Sheila and Maria are both well known to many
local parents through their work with the local schools, and as parents
themselves.
Activities for Cubs fall between those offered to Beavers and
Scouts. Campfire Cooking is a favourite, even if sausages on sticks usually
end up eaten raw, or blackened. It is in Cubs that our members start
to be introduced to Archery. Maria Glover and Mhairi Scott are qualified Archery
and Shooting Instructors.
There are loads of fun things that you
can do as a Cub Scout. You will get a chance to try lots of different
activities like swimming, music, exploring, computing and collecting. If
you do them properly you will get a badge which you can wear on your
uniform. Cubs are offered plenty of crafts throughout the winter, but as
always the longer days mean that they can get out and about in our field,
or across the road on the edge of open country for wide
games.
Cub Scouts also get to go on trips and days
out, to places like the zoo, theme parks or a farm. Sometimes you will be
able to go camping with the rest of your Pack. This will mean you sleeping
in a tent and doing loads of outdoor activities.
The pack is mixed and growing, and we are
always looking for new activities for the Cubs.
